Prior to speaking at the Seminole Chamber of Commerce Forum on Dec. 12, Oklahoma State Senator and Chair of the Senate Education Committee Adam Pugh met with members of the Seminole State College President’s Leadership Class. SSC Board of Regents Approve Agreement to Streamline Esports Lab Construction

The Seminole State College Board of Regents convened on Dec. 12 to deliberate on an interlocal cooperation agreement for consortium purchasing, a utilities cost-saving initiative and updates on major campus renovations.

The meeting began with a presentation on the grant programs at the College by Senior Director of Grants and Compliance Rich Thornton. Followed by a report from SSC President Lana Reynolds, who provided updates on personnel changes and recent campus events. Then Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs Dr. Bill Knowles discussed ongoing construction and renovation projects, including the drainage system near the Walkingstick Student Services building and the secured motor pool parking lot on the north side of campus.

SSC Board of Regents Reviews Annual Audit, Declares State of Emergency for Softball Field

The Seminole State College Board of Regents convened on Oct. 24 to accept the College’s annual external audit report and ratify a Declaration of a State of Emergency due to damage to the SSC softball field.

The meeting began with a report from SSC President Lana Reynolds, who provided updates on recent and upcoming campus events. Reynolds also introduced STEM Division Vice Chair Wendy Rich. Rich provided an overview of the division and discussed different technologies professors have been implementing in their classrooms, including simulators, drones and electrical engineering kits.

SSC Board of Regents Review Bids for Campus Projects

The Seminole State College Board of Regents reviewed bids for the institution’s sidewalk and drainage repairs, as well as a secured motor pool parking lot at their special meeting on Sept. 24.

Prior to the discussion of business items, President Lana Reynolds spoke about personnel changes, reported on enrollment numbers and presented SSC’s 2024 Annual Report publication to members of the Board. The Annual Report encapsulates the achievements, milestones, community partnerships and endeavors undertaken by the College over the past year. SSC Freezes Tuition for Second Year in a Row

At their meeting on June 20, the Seminole State College Board of Regents approved the budget for the upcoming fiscal year, which includes a cost-of-living raise for employees and no increase to tuition.

During the meeting, President Lana Reynolds provided an update on personnel changes and end of the academic year campus activities.

The first two items on the agenda were the consideration of renewing the College’s Memorandum of Understanding with Gordon Cooper Technology Center for SSC’s Physical Therapist Assistant and Medical Laboratory Technology programs. Both programs hold their classes on GCTC’s Shawnee campus. The Board approved the MOU renewals.

New Regent Appointed to SSC Board

Governor Kevin Stitt has appointed Teresa Burnett to serve as a Regent for Seminole State College. Her appointment was confirmed by the Oklahoma State Senate Education Committee on May 21. Pending full approval on the Senate floor, she will be sworn in at the July meeting of the SSC Board of Regents.

“We look forward to working with her at Seminole State College,” SSC President Lana Reynolds said. “She brings not only a unique perspective but also a personal connection to our institution.”

SSC Board of Regents Awards Emeritus Status to Former VP

The Seminole State College Board of Regents approved two bids for construction projects on campus, approved entering a contract for fleet management and awarded emeritus status to former Vice President of Academic Affairs Dr. Linda Goeller at their meeting on March 28.

SSC Board of Regents Ratifies Name of Trojan Baseball Field

The Seminole State College Board of Regents approved a resolution to support the current law regarding firearm restrictions on college campuses and ratified the naming of the Trojan home baseball field at their meeting on Feb. 15.

During her report to the Board, President Lana Reynolds discussed campus events, personnel changes, progress on the Wellness Center Construction project and legislative activities.

SSC Receives Clean External Audit at Board Meeting

The Seminole State College Board of Regents met Oct. 26 to review the College’s annual external audit report and approve a name, image and likeness (NIL) policy for student-athletes.

The meeting opened with a review of the College’s recent expenditures by Vice President for Fiscal Affairs Melanie Rinehart. Then SSC President Lana Reynolds presented her President’s Report, which included an update on the College’s personnel changes and information about campus activities.
