SSC Women’s Soccer Team Ranked Number One Heading into Regional Tournament

The Seminole State College women’s soccer team will be the number one seed heading into the NJCAA Region II Tournament at Red Robertson Field in Miami, Oklahoma, this Saturday, Oct. 27. The Trojans are one of four teams to qualify for the tournament. In the first round of play, the Trojans will face off against Redlands Community College.

The Trojans finished up their regular season on Oct. 22 with a win against Oklahoma Wesleyan, bringing their overall win-loss record to 16 wins, two losses and one tie.

The Trojans had two players named “NJCAA Region II Player of the Week” this season. Freshman Lauren Ramon, of Rowlett, Texas, received the honor the week of Sept. 10-16. Freshman Giselle Longoria, of McKinney, Texas, received the honor twice for the weeks of Oct. 1-7 and Oct. 15-21.

The team has been undefeated throughout the month of October with six straight wins and hope to continue the hot streak throughout the Region II Tournament.
