Seminole State College Associate Professor of Mathematics Dr. Linda Goeller received the Dale P. Parnell Distinguished Faculty Award at the 2019 American Association of Community Colleges annual convention on April 14 in Orlando, Florida.
Twenty-one community college faculty members from across the United States received the honor. Dr. Goeller was the only honoree from Oklahoma.
Recipients of the award must be nominated, demonstrate passion for classroom learning, show a willingness to support students both inside and outside of the classroom, be inclined to participate in college committees and go above and beyond what is required to ensure the academic success of their students.
Dr. Goeller earned her Ph.D. in Professional Studies/Mathematics Education from Oklahoma State University, her M.Ed. in Mathematics Education from Northeastern State University, and her B.S. in Accounting from Oklahoma State University. Her research interests include mathematics education, developmental education and teacher professional development.
She has served on a number of Faculty Senate committees and Mathematics Division committees. She also has served as the co-chairman of the Oklahoma State Regents Higher Education Mathematics Task Force.
