Seminole State College grant programs observed National Native American Heritage month by hosting Tribal Fest – an educational and cultural celebration – on Nov. 2.
The College’s Student Support Services (SSS) and Native American Serving Non-Tribal Institutions (NASNTI) programs provided informational booths, a pow wow sweat demonstration, free healthy snacks and “fancy dancing” in an effort to provide a robust cultural experience for all students
A special performance by Native American rapper and motivational speaker Brutha War was presented in the Jeff Johnston Fine Arts Center. Also performing during the Tribal Fest program were television celebrities and performance artists LiLMike and FunnyBone, Oklahoma City brothers who have been featured on “America’s Got Talent” and “Reservation Dogs.”
