“By hosting these speech and debate tournaments, we bring in many outstanding students to visit the campus. This puts SSC at the forefront for consideration because of the familiarity the tournaments give the students with our campus and our programs,”

While the SSC campus has been used for speech tournaments in the past, this is the first year the college has hosted. Seminole High School has used the campus for their own tournament and the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association uses the campus for its Southeast Regional Tournament. The Language Arts and Humanities Department will be offering three scholarships beginning in the fall of 2019 with the proceeds from the event.
