The Southwest Association of Financial Aid Administrators and the Oklahoma Association of Financial Aid Administrators honored Melanie Rinehart, Seminole State College Director of Financial Assistance, with the 2018 Philo Brasher Emerging Leadership Award during the 2018 SWASFAA Conference held in Little Rock, Arkansas, last week.

This award is given to an individual who has served OASFAA and made a contribution to the associations. “It is humbling and a true honor to be recognized by my peers,” Rinehart said.
Individuals from each state within the region are selected for the honor.
Rinehart’s current service to the organizations includes being selected as a presenter, panelist and moderator for the 2018 OASFAA Conference and 2018 SWASFAA Conference. She currently serves as the 2018 SWASFAA Training and Continuing Education Chair, as well as the OASFAA Conference Program Chair. Both associations are dedicated to the professional development of financial aid administrators across the state and region.“Volunteering with your state and regional association not only provides amazing network opportunities, but it is a great way to give back to those who support you,” Rinehart said.
