The Seminole State College Board of Regents held a special meeting on Aug. 26 to approve a bid for a new heat and air system in the Raymond Harber Field House, the purchase of a passenger bus, a renewal of the College’s athletic insurance and to approve an agreement with a telemedicine service.
As the first item on the agenda, bids on the heat and air system replacement were presented to the Board for their consideration. A bid from Wagonners’ Heat and Air, was approved to replace the HVAC system for the Raymond Harber Field House. The College will purchase the Allied 10,000 Package System in the amount of $135,982.
The Board also approved the purchase of an activity bus to be from Masters Transportation. The 35-passenger 2021 F650 Glaval Concorde II bus will cost $163,863.
Next, the Board approved annual expenditures for athletic insurance in the amount of $30,477 and for student accident insurance in the amount of $54,644. The insurance is provided by Specialty Insurance Solutions and is purchased through a consortium with seven other Oklahoma colleges.
The Board then approved a measure to offer SwiftMD Telemedicine Service to students and employees. The service is provided through the Oklahoma Community College Insurance Consortium at a cost of $4 per month for students and $4 per month for full-time, benefit-receiving employees.
Board members present at the meeting were Chair Ray McQuiston, Marci Donaho, Ryan Franklin, Kim Hyden, Curtis Morgan and Ryan Pitts. The Board will reconvene on Oct. 21 for their next meeting.
