The Seminole State College baseball team will be hosting alumni weekend events October 26 and 27, including a community golf tournament and special baseball alumni activities. Proceeds from these events will go to support the College’s baseball program.
The weekend will begin with an open practice for all SSC baseball alumni on Friday, October 26 at the Oiler Ballpark in Seminole. A Baseball Alumni Social will be held at 7 p.m. at the home of current SSC Regent and former Trojan Ryan Franklin that evening. Dinner and soft drinks will be provided.
On Saturday, October 27, alumni and community members are invited to participant in a golf tournament at the Jimmie Austin Municipal Golf Course in Seminole. The tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Entry fee for the two-person scramble is $100 per player. Payment includes green fees, cart and lunch. Mulligans are available for $10 each, with a limit of two per player.
Hole sponsorships, providing recognition for business and individual supporters of the baseball team, are available for $100 each.
Following the golf tournament, a homerun derby will begin at 1:30 p.m. at Oiler Park. Entry for the contest is $20 per person. After the homerun derby, an Alumni vs. 2018 Trojans baseball game is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
“Alumni weekend is about tradition. Our alumni have continued to support our program and we look forward to getting everybody together every year.
