In a joint effort, Seminole State College, the Brian Crawford Memorial, the City of Seminole and the Seminole Tourism Council will host the Seminole Hoops Classic Saturday, Dec. 22, and Sunday, Dec. 23, at the Reynolds Wellness Center. The event includes 30 elementary boys and girls teams from across the state, slated to play approximately 50 games.
SSC Director of Tournament and Events Kenneth Crawford helmed the effort to bring the major tournament to Seminole.
“We have a wonderful event coming this weekend. Restaurants and hotels should be full. Working with my contacts at Brian Crawford Memorial Sports and the Wellness Center, we are planning for 50 games right now, but that could increase. We’re trying to accommodate everyone for now.”

SSC President Lana Reynolds was glad different entities in the community could come together to make the event possible.
“This is exactly the kind of partnership with the City and Tourism that we have been trying to create. I think this is just one example of more great things to come,” Reynolds said.
The tournament will begin at 8 a.m. and the last game will start at 6:50 p.m. on Dec. 22. On Dec. 23, games will start at noon and the final game is set for 6:40 p.m.
