The Seminole State College President’s Leadership Class traveled to the Oklahoma History Museum in Oklahoma City on Jan. 31, where they explored exhibits featuring Oklahoma’s unique history of geology, transportation, commerce, culture, aviation, heritage, and more. Following their museum tour, the group watched the move “On the Basis of Sex,” an American biographical legal drama film based on the life and early cases of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and her fight for equal rights.
PLC students Triniti House of Holdenville and K.C. Bryan of Bowlegs learn about the history of oil and gas in Oklahoma from World War II to the present while visiting the museum in OKC. This exhibit also highlights the legacy of the industry, including jobs, tax revenues, philanthropy, and landmarks.While at the museum, several PLC students learned about Oklahoma’s early history, including its settlement and development as a state. The exhibit covered land runs, education, pioneer life, cowboys, and many other topics.
