Several Seminole State College faculty from the STEM Division were invited to present at the Innovative Educators Summit in Charleston, S.C., an event attended by educators from across the nation. Their presentation on “Implementing Corequisites to Support Math Pathways” shared the teams experience from the past year as the STEM curriculum made the transition to corequisites and math pathway courses.
SSC STEM Division Chair Dr. Linda Goeller explained how these changes will provide SSC students the opportunity to complete general education math requirements related to their major pathway in one semester.
“We hope to see more students returning to SSC to complete their general education math requirement since the courses are now related to the major pathways and not everyone has to take College Algebra,” she stated.
