Seminole State College STEM Assistant Professor Theran Hernandez visited with Seminole junior high and high school students this week during a special Black History Month program at the school. Hernandez spoke to the group about her experience as an African American student, and how she overcame racial stereotypes and became the first in her family to attend and graduate college. She stressed the importance of education and encouraged the students to pursue their dreams, even in the face of adversity.
