Seminole State College hosted its inaugural Trojan Speech and Debate Tournament earlier this month. A total of 14 high schools from across the state participated in the event, including Ardmore, Durant, McAlester, Byng, Madill, Mannford, Meeker, Muldrow, Seminole, Prague, Haskell, Kiefer, Liberty and Talihina. SSC Welcomes Families on Trick or Treat Trail
Several hundred kids and family members participated in Seminole State College’s 5th Annual Trick-or-Treat Trail on campus October 30. Tables were set up along the walking trails of Henderson Park with various SSC teams, organizations, students and employees who passed out candy to trick-or-treaters. International Concert Pianist to Perform at SSC
Concert pianist Dr. Peter Simon will entertain area residents at a free public concert Thursday, Nov. 8 on Seminole State College’s campus. The “Music and Poetry of Love” program will begin at 7 p.m. in the Utterback Ballroom of the Enoch Kelly Haney Center. The event is sponsored by the SSC Educational Foundation. The Language Arts and Humanities Division at Seminole State College is currently accepting submissions for the Eighth Annual “Howlers and Yawpers Creativity Symposium: A Showcase of Oklahoma Artists, Musicians, Actors, Writers, and Dancers.” Those interested can visit the symposium website at http://yawpers.kellimcbride.com to access the 2018 Submission Form.
