Belles Receive “Unstoppable” Gift

Seminole State College Belles basketball players each received an autographed copy of “Unstoppable,” a book recently written by Simone Edwards, former Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) star and Seminole State College Belle. Longtime Belles supporters and owners of TS&H Shirt Co. of Seminole, Sue Snodgrass and Hope Pickering, purchased the copies for the team. Edwards will be in Seminole this week to promote her book and visit with those on campus and in the community. On Wednesday, March 7, Edwards will visit with SSC students at 10 a.m. during a special presentation inside the Jeff Johnston Fine Arts Center. This event is free and open to the public. She will also be the guest speaker at the Seminole Chamber of Commerce Forum luncheon on Thursday, March 8, at 12 p.m. This event is also open to the public with an $8 fee for lunch, payable at the door.

Community and Alumni Advisers to Aid in Search for Trojan Baseball Coach

Seminole State College has opened the search for a new coach for the Trojan baseball team.  The position will be advertised locally, statewide and regionally, as well as in national baseball publications.  The selection process will include input from College, community and alumni supporters. SSC to Welcome a “Hurricane” to Campus Next Week

Seminole State College will host former Belles basketball player and Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) star Simone “Jamaican Hurricane” Edwards on campus next week. SSC Foundation Receives $75,000 Donation for New Baseball Complex

Former Trojans Return Home to Kick-Off Baseball Season

Former Seminole State College baseball players, along with community supporters and members of the 2018 Trojan squad, gathered on the SSC campus Saturday evening, Feb. 3 for the annual Trojan Season Kick-Off Banquet. Over 230 guests attended the event.

During the banquet, special recognition was given to the players from the 1988, 1998, and 2008 Trojan teams, marking their 10th, 20th and 30th anniversaries. Brian Kelly, a member of the 1988 Trojan team and Master of Ceremonies for the event, welcomed and announced these former players.
