Area High School Counselors and Administrators Visit SSC for Workshop

Seminole State College welcomed local high school counselors and administrators to campus for a workshop on March 29. During the event, a panel of SSC employees spoke and answered questions regarding academic placement, transcripts and financial aid. College Transfer Fair Held at SSC

Seminole State College SSC hosted a College Transfer Fair on Oct. 5. Students were able to speak with representatives from the University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma State University, Cameron University, Oklahoma Christian, University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma, East Central University, Grand Canyon University, Oklahoma City University and the U.S. Army.

SSC Helps Students Complete FAFSA at October Events

Seminole State College is helping students understand their financial aid options and complete their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at events this month.

From Oct. 3 through Oct. 6, the Financial Aid Office, in a partnership with Student Support Services, held “FAFSA Days.” Financial Aid specialists set up in the Student Union to answer questions and assist students throughout the process.

SSC Holds Extended Office Hours, Fall Semester Begins August 15

With the fall semester beginning Aug. 15, Seminole State College will host its Enrollment Extravaganza event and extend enrollment hours to cater to prospective student schedules from Aug. 8 to Aug. 13. The event will feature games, popcorn, hot dogs, cotton candy and campus tours. Students who stop by during the event can enter a raffle for a $250 or $500 tuition wavier. The drawing will take place on 1:00 p.m. on Aug. 13.

SSC Student-Athletes Receive Academic All-American Honors

Fifty-two student-athletes and six athletic teams at Seminole State College have been recognized for their outstanding academic achievements this year by the National Junior College Athletic Association. The NJCAA Academic All-American Student Athlete Awards are divided into the three groups based on grade point average – First Team requires a 4.0 GPA, Second Team requires a GPA between 3.80 and 3.99, and Third Team requires a GPA between 3.60 and 3.79.

Spring Honor Roll Recognizes SSC Students

Seminole State College has released the names of honor roll students for the 2022 spring semester. Three separate honor rolls recognize students for their academic achievements.

The President’s Honor Roll is comprised of students who maintain a perfect 4.0 grade-point-average in at least 12 credit hours of coursework.

Students named to the Vice President’s Honor Roll must have a 3.5 grade-point-average or better and no grade below a “C”.

The Part-Time Students’ Honor Roll is for students who maintain a 3.5 grade-point-average with no grade below a “C” in at least six, but less than 12 college credit hours.
