Members of Seminole State College’s President’s Leadership Class volunteered at the Oklahoma Regional Food Bank in Oklahoma City on Nov. 7. The students prepared packages of food that will be distributed to participating schools around the state. The bags contained approximately 10 different foods designed to provide nutrition and calories for chronically hungry children over the weekend. Several hundred kids and family members participated in Seminole State College’s 6th Annual Trick-or-Treat Trail on campus October 28. Tables were set up along the walking trails of Henderson Park with various SSC teams, organizations, students and employees who passed out candy to trick-or-treaters. Danish Students Get a Glimpse of Native History
As part of Seminole State College’s cultural and educational exchange program with College360° in Silkeborg, Denmark, SSC welcomed a delegation of 16 Danish students and instructors to campus last week. On Oct. 24, the visitors stopped by the Chickasaw Cultural Center in Sulphur to gain a greater understanding of Native American History. Danish students (l-r) Martin Bonde, Nicholas Bentzon and Lasse Kristensen took a moment to learn more about the Chickasaw language at one of the cultural center’s exhibits. SSC Baptist Collegiate Ministry Hosts Dodgeball Tournament
The Seminole State College Baptist Collegiate Ministry recently hosted a dodgeball tournament on campus. Multiple student teams and one faculty team competed in the Raymond Harber Fieldhouse. Prize money was awarded to the top three teams. The faculty team, which placed third, donated their winnings to the SSC Food Pantry. SSC and BancFirst Prague Student Bank Board Welcome Largest Group in Program’s History
Thirty-seven high school seniors from Prague, Paden, and online-charter schools comprise the 2019-2020 BancFirst Prague Student Bank Board, and are eligible to earn a tuition and fee-free college credit in Business Leadership from Seminole State College. Seminole District Attorney Presents at SSC Event
Seminole State College hosted its annual Constitution Day event on Sept. 17. The event featured guest speaker Paul B. Smith, District Attorney for Seminole, Hughes and Pontotoc Counties. Smith addressed students, faculty and staff about “Changing American Values; Creating Constitutional Conflicts Impacting Law Enforcement.”

Seminole Residents Make Major Donation to SSC Food Pantry
Seminole residents Bettie Conn and LaVere Bishop have stepped forward to assist Seminole State College with its efforts to establish a Food Pantry on campus.
