SSC Regents Convene for July Meeting
At their July meeting on Thursday, the Seminole State College Board of Regents elected Board officers and approved an annual consultant agreement. The Board also approved the temporary suspension of men’s and women’s tennis to allow the College time to hire a new coach after the recent departure of long-time head coach Brian Nelson – and address several other matters pertaining to the program. SSC PTA Program Receives Candidacy for Accreditation
Seminole State College has partnered with Gordon Cooper Technology Center to offer a Physical Therapist Assistant Program, a degree that recently received Candidacy for Accreditation status by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education. SSC Art Club Visits ECU Fine Arts Center
Seminole State College Art Club students recently took a field trip to visit the Hallie Ford Fine Arts Center at East Central University in Ada.
Upon arrival, SSC students were welcomed by ECU Director of Fine Arts Dr. Brad Jessop and Professor of Graphic Design John Dougherty. Dougherty, along with Assistant Professor Katy Seals, held a review session with the group and encouraged them to spread out their artwork and discuss their pieces in detail. Innovative Educators
Several Seminole State College faculty from the STEM Division were invited to present at the Innovative Educators Summit in Charleston, S.C., an event attended by educators from across the nation. Their presentation on “Implementing Corequisites to Support Math Pathways” shared the teams experience from the past year as the STEM curriculum made the transition to corequisites and math pathway courses.
