Seminole State College’s softball coaches were named Coaching Staff of the Year by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association. The SSC coaches were selected as the best in the Midwest region of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division I. They were honored alongside Wallace State Community College-Hanceville (South) and Yavapai College (West).
Under the direction of head coach Amber Flores and assistant coach T.J. Webb, the Trojans (44-2) captured the Region II softball tournament with a perfect 4-0 mark and earned their spot in the NJCAA DI Softball World Series. Flores, who is in her tenth season, was named Region II Coach of the Year for the fourth consecutive season and guided fourth-ranked Seminole State to an Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Conference title.
The team will journey to Yuma, Arizona for the NJCAA DI Softball World Series at the Pacific Avenue Athletic Complex. The games will be played from May 24 to May 28.
