SSC President’s Leadership Class Registers Students to Vote

PLC student registers students to vote.

Members of the Seminole State College President’s Leadership Class helped students register to vote in honor of National Voter Registration Day on Sept. 22. PLC students set up six tables across campus, encouraged their peers to participate in the upcoming election and gave away t-shirts to anyone who registered. SSC President’s Leadership Class Attends Voter Engagement Event

Members of the Seminole State College President’s Leadership Class attended a voter engagement event held in the Utterback Ballroom on campus Sept. 17. The event featured a pre-recorded interview with U.S. Congresswoman Kendra Horn, a pre-recorded video from State Regent and former State Attorney General Mike Turpen and a virtual panel discussion featuring State Labor Commissioner Leslie Osborn, State Senator Zack Taylor (District 28) and State Representative Jason Dunnington (District 88). SSC PLC Visits St. Crispin’s Conference Center

Seminole State College President’s Leadership Class students completed teambuilding exercises at St. Crispin’s Conference Center on Sept. 3. The students participated in puzzle solving, group jump rope activities, rock climbing and swinging. PLC Meet State Banking Leader

Members of the Seminole State College President’s Leadership Class visited with Gene Rainbolt, a state banking leader and philanthropist, who served as the guest speaker at the Seminole Chamber of Commerce Forum Luncheon on March 12.  Rainbolt is the founder of BancFirst, which since its beginnings in 1989 has become the largest state-chartered bank in Oklahoma with assets of $8.6 billion and offices in 58 communities.  The organization also owns Pegasus Bank which has three banking locations in Dallas, Texas.

True Blue

PLC students then gathered into four different color groups and discussed items they liked and disliked, depending on their personality style. The blue group works to make a list of things they love, which included helping other people, problem solving, music, art and nature. SSC Students Volunteer at Regional Food Bank

Members of Seminole State College’s President’s Leadership Class volunteered at the Oklahoma Regional Food Bank in Oklahoma City on Nov. 7. The students prepared packages of food that will be distributed to participating schools around the state. The bags contained approximately 10 different foods designed to provide nutrition and calories for chronically hungry children over the weekend. SSC President’s Leadership Class Attends Chamber Forum

The Seminole State College President’s Leadership Class poses for a photo with Brent Kisling, Executive Director of the Oklahoma Department of Commerce (center), following the Seminole Chamber of Commerce Forum on Sept. 12. Kisling was this month’s featured speaker. He discussed attracting more businesses to Oklahoma and growing job sectors. Kisling was appointed to his position in January by Governor Kevin Stitt.
