SSC Announces Expected Graduates

Seminole State College students completing degree requirements at the end of the 2024 spring and summer semesters, along with 2023 fall graduates, participated in the College’s annual commencement exercises on Friday, May 3.

The graduation ceremony was held inside the Raymond Harber Field House on campus. Speaker of the House of Representatives Charles McCall was the featured guest speaker.

Longtime SSC Baseball Coach Honored at Field Dedication

Seminole State College hosted the Lloyd Simmons Field dedication on May 3 at the Brian Crawford Memorial Sports Complex. Former Trojan baseball Head Coach Lloyd Simmons was presented with a plaque and customized baseball bat to commemorate the special occasion. Simmons also received a Citation of Recognition from the State of Oklahoma in honor of the field dedication by State Senator and Trojan Alumni Darcy Jech. Pictured (left to right) are Sen. SSC Baseball and Softball Teams to Compete in Regional Tournaments

This weekend, beginning Thursday, May 9, Seminole State College will host the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region II Division I baseball tournament at the Brian Crawford Memorial Sports Complex.

The college was selected last fall to host the tournament, following a bid process. Artificial turf on the complex fields will ensure tournament play, unless weather conditions provide a dangerous threat.

In the 50-plus years that the post-season playoff tournament has been held, this is the first time for the event to come to Seminole. It has been held at various locations in Tulsa, Oklahoma City, McAlester, Bartlesville and Woodward.
