SSC to Host High School Visit Day on November 12

Seminole State College will welcome high school students to campus for its annual High School Visit Day on Tuesday, November 12. This event, taking place from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., is designed to offer prospective students an in-depth look at college life through interactive sessions, a campus tour scavenger hunt and a complimentary lunch in the student union. Attendees will have the chance to win $500 and $250 tuition waivers as raffle prizes.

The day will begin at 9 a.m. with a welcome message from SSC’s Vice President of Finance, Grants, and Enrollment, Melanie Rinehart, in the Jeff Johnston Fine Arts Center.

Throughout the morning, attendees can choose from various breakout sessions, offering insights into college life and practical advice for success:

  • 9:10-9:55 a.m. – Breakout Session One
    • Navigating College Life: Student Q&A Panel – Jeff Johnston Fine Arts Center
    • Beyond the Books: Getting Involved on Campus – Boren Library, Room 106
  • 10:05-10:50 a.m. – Breakout Session Two
    • Financial Aid & Scholarships – Jeff Johnston Fine Arts Center
    • Exploring Concurrent Enrollment – Boren Library, Room 105
    • Tips for College Success – Boren Library, Room 106

Students will reconvene at 10:50 a.m. in the Jeff Johnston Fine Arts Center before heading out on a campus tour scavenger hunt from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., which will allow them to explore the SSC campus and discover key resources and locations.

The visit will conclude with a lunch in the Student Union from 11:50 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., offering students an opportunity to connect with peers and SSC representatives.
