Two Seminole State College employees were recognized for their hard work and dedication during the monthly Seminole Chamber of Commerce Forum on Oct. 20. Professor of History and Student Success Coordinator Dr. Steve Bolin was honored as “Faculty Member of the Month” and Admissions Clerk and VA School Certifying Officer Stacey Foster as “Staff Member of the Month.”
The Seminole Chamber of Commerce Education Committee, along with the Lions Club, recognize SSC employees several times during Forum each year. Individuals are nominated from across the campus and chosen by SSC administrators to receive the honor.
Dr. Bolin has worked at SSC for 16 years. He teaches history and humanities courses for the Social Sciences Division. He also coordinates all learning strategies courses, as well as the Core Action early alert system for the College.
Dr. Bolin earned his Ph.D. in History from Oklahoma State University. He attends the Quail Springs Baptist Church. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, home remodeling, landscape gardening and being a grandpa. He and his wife, Shelly, reside in Oklahoma City. They have two daughters, Isabelle and Abigail, and a grandson named Noah.
Foster has worked at SSC for four years and is currently pursuing her associate’s degree at the institution. She helps students through the admissions process, the transfer of college credits and certifying veteran education student enrollment to the VA for benefits. She serves on the Oklahoma Veteran Education Specialist Association Board.
She and her husband, Chad, reside in Seminole. They have two children, Adrienne Foster and Benjamin Foster.
