
Two Seminole State College employees were recognized for their dedication and service during the Seminole Chamber of Commerce Forum on March 13. Assistant Professor of English Jamie Worthley was honored as Faculty Member of the Month, and TRIO Accounting Clerk Yahnah Factor was named Staff Member of the Month.
The Seminole Chamber of Commerce Education Committee, along with the Lions Club and Kontoor Brands/Wrangler, recognize SSC employees several times during Forum each year. Individuals are nominated from across the campus and chosen by SSC administrators to receive the honor.
Worthley has worked at SSC for six years as a full-time faculty member, with five years as a shared appointment with East Central University. She teaches Freshman Composition I, Freshman Composition II, and Special Topics in Composition.
Worthley holds an Associate of Language Arts degree from Seminole State College, a Bachelor of Arts from East Central University, and a Master of Composition & Rhetoric from the University of Central Oklahoma. She serves as an advisor for both the Native American Student Association and Sigma
Kappa Delta. Her hobbies include journaling and sewing. She and her husband, Jason, reside in Seminole with their two children, Leora and Jase.
Factor has been employed at SSC for three years and serves as the TRIO Accounting Clerk, responsible for bookkeeping for all eight TRIO grant programs on campus.
She earned an Associate of Science in Business from Seminole State College and is currently pursuing bachelor’s degrees in Business Management and Human Resource Management at the University of Central Oklahoma.
Factor is a member of the Classified Staff and has been recognized as a former Cobell Scholarship recipient. In her free time, she enjoys creating beadwork and spending time with her family. She and her husband, Mark, reside in Seminole with their two children, Mark Jr. and Gabriella.
