SSC Student Attends National Student Government Summit
Seminole State College sophomore Tijah Johnson, of Shawnee, attended the American Student Government Association annual conference in Washington D.C. Oct. 10-13. Johnson serves as the President of the Student Government Association at SSC.

During the conference, she attended workshops on leadership, time management, bolstering campus involvement and many other topics. She also toured many landmarks of the nation’s capital.
SSC Art Club Visits Impressionist Exhibit
Art Club students from Seminole State College recently visited the Oklahoma City Museum of Art to get a first-hand glimpse of Impressionist artwork from the nineteenth century. The exhibit, Van Gogh, Monet, Degas, was on loan from the Mellon Collection of French art from the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. Enrollment Open for Both Five- and Eight-Week Classes at SSC
Seminole State College students may now enroll in five- and eight-week courses.
Five-week classes will begin on Saturday, Oct.28, and will conclude on Saturday, Dec. 7. Courses offered include Speech, Composition I and Introduction to Microsoft Office. SSC to Host Constitution Day Event

Seminole State College will host its annual Constitution Day event on Tuesday, Sept. 17, at 1 p.m. in the Enoch Kelly Haney Center Lecture Hall.
The event will feature guest speaker Paul B. Smith, District Attorney for Seminole, Hughes and Pontotoc Counties. His presentation is entitled “Changing American Values; Creating Constitutional Conflicts Impacting Law Enforcement.” Students, faculty, staff and community members are all welcome to attend this free event.

Holdenville Society of Painters and Sculptors Awards Scholarship to SSC Student

The Holdenville Society of Painters and Sculptors recently awarded a $500 scholarship to Seminole State College freshman Jaqueline Torres for her accomplishments in art while a senior at Holdenville High School. A pencil drawing by Torres was featured in the Holdenville Society of Painters art show in the spring of 2019. She enjoys working in ceramics and sketching. Torres is presently a business major at SSC with the goal of becoming an accountant one day.
