Land clearing began Nov. 25 at the future site of the Seminole State College Brian Crawford Memorial Sports Complex. The site is located approximately half of a mile west of the SSC campus on Highway 9, adjacent to the new Seminole High School. Seminole County Commissioner, District II, Tim Porter (left) and Equipment Operator Robert Moon lent a hand in clearing trees and vegetation on the site. First United Bank of Seminole and Area Schools Make Donation to SSC Food Bank
First United Bank recently sponsored a food drive contest for area schools to benefit the Seminole State College Food Pantry. Classes at the Academy of Seminole, Wilson Elementary, New Lima, Strother and Varnum competed for the prize of a pizza party provided by First United Bank. A winning class was selected at each school. The classes donated hundreds of food items. The end result was so large that Seminole Chemical and Supplies lent a truck and a couple of employees volunteered to help transport the goods. The donations were dropped off Nov. 22. SSC Students Volunteer at Regional Food Bank
Members of Seminole State College’s President’s Leadership Class volunteered at the Oklahoma Regional Food Bank in Oklahoma City on Nov. 7. The students prepared packages of food that will be distributed to participating schools around the state. The bags contained approximately 10 different foods designed to provide nutrition and calories for chronically hungry children over the weekend. Large Crowd Attends SSC Trick-or-Treat Trail Event

Several hundred kids and family members participated in Seminole State College’s 6th Annual Trick-or-Treat Trail on campus October 28. Tables were set up along the walking trails of Henderson Park with various SSC teams, organizations, students and employees who passed out candy to trick-or-treaters. Denmark Students Visit Oklahoma Attractions
Danish Students Get a Glimpse of Native History
As part of Seminole State College’s cultural and educational exchange program with College360° in Silkeborg, Denmark, SSC welcomed a delegation of 16 Danish students and instructors to campus last week. On Oct. 24, the visitors stopped by the Chickasaw Cultural Center in Sulphur to gain a greater understanding of Native American History. Danish students (l-r) Martin Bonde, Nicholas Bentzon and Lasse Kristensen took a moment to learn more about the Chickasaw language at one of the cultural center’s exhibits. SSC Baptist Collegiate Ministry Hosts Dodgeball Tournament
The Seminole State College Baptist Collegiate Ministry recently hosted a dodgeball tournament on campus. Multiple student teams and one faculty team competed in the Raymond Harber Fieldhouse. Prize money was awarded to the top three teams. The faculty team, which placed third, donated their winnings to the SSC Food Pantry.
