Seminole State College will host two evening events as part of their Reach Higher: Reconnect Week programming from Oct. 24-28. The two events are catered to working adults who are looking to complete their degrees.
On Oct. 24 from 5-8 p.m. in the lobby of the Walkingstick building, prospective students and students planning to reenroll will have the opportunity to learn about scholarships, enjoy light refreshments and speak directly with academic advisors and financial aid specialists.
Students will be able to complete applications for the Reach Higher Finish Line scholarship. The scholarship was established to contribute to the economic development goals of the state of Oklahoma through providing in-demand degree options for working adults. Applicants must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), enroll in at least six credit hours in the spring 2023 semester, maintain at least a 2.0 GPA, and be within 30 credit hours of completing degree requirements for graduation. Recipients of the scholarship will receive up to $5,000 over the course of five semesters. A copy of the application can be found on SSC’s website at sscok.edu/events.
On Oct. 26, SSC will hold extended office hours from 5 to 6 p.m. Advisors and financial aid specialists will be available to assist students with the enrollment process.
These events are made possible through the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education’s Reach Higher program. The program focuses on helping non-traditional students earn degrees in critical occupation industries. For more information on Reach Higher, visit reachhigherok.org/about-reachhigher.
